Pana Fire Department has 34 dedicated firefighters and six to ten Explorers. Our department is responsible for protecting the public in an area that was organized in 1856. We protect one city, one village, and many rural acres. Besides this, we are a member of a sixteen department SOS mutual aid agreement group. The public building inventory for our protected area lists four public schools, five private school buildings, four city/township halls, one library, one hospital, twenty-nine churches, three motels, three mega grain elevators, one lumber yard, and a Wal-Mart, to name a few.
